ENABLING SCHOOLING FOR 400 CHILDREN
Summer 2016

In the summer of 2016 Johnny was in Ndene Lagane. It is a little village 180km away from Dakar. There are approximately 2000 people living there. The source of income is farming. The farmers have to work very hard during the rainy-season in order to have a good harvest. Most of the people are living in very poor conditions. They are living in huts without electricity, toilets or kitchens. He visited 70 families that are living in conditions like these. Most of the parents didn't go to school, and there are even many children at the moment that have no possibility to go to school. The very sad reason is that their parents are not able to finance school materials, like books, pens and paper. Education would make a significant impact on the children. Knowing how to write and read will make it far easier to find a job in the future. Education is the key of life and is the biggest weapon to fight against poverty. With donations of about 1050 Euro we purchased and distributed 800 notebooks, 1000 pens, 90 books and 200 pencils to children in Ndene Lagane.

School Construction in Guinea Bissau
Winter 2016

In September of 2016 Johnny travelled to Guinea Bissau (west Africa) for 3 weeks. The living conditions are not easy, until 2 years ago Ebola still dominated. Even after the civil war in 1997 and1998, the country is still in the reconstruction phase. The infrastructures of the schools are in serious disrepair and the educational possibilities are bleak. Johnny also visited Bissalanca, a school where 350 students shared two classrooms. Ten teachers work there with the children, but with the shortage of space it’s very difficult to give to the children the possibility for a good education With donations we build a school-building with 5 new classrooms, with 55 desks and benches and we distributed schoolmaterials for the kids.

Medicine, food and clothes for Venezuela
january 2018

Venezuela is terrible place to live. The sallary of a worker is about € 5 a month. 1 liter of water costs 3 €, 500g of pasta costs 5 €. However 30 liters of petrol cost only 10cent. The people are poor, the police is corrupt, the queue in front of the supermarcets is getting longer every day. People wait nine to ten hours before they are allowed to enter the store, sometimes it is so long that the food they need is already sold out. No money for food, no money for medicine. Many hospitals have no medicine. Anyone who suffers from cancer here is sentenced to death. Or diabetes: "A boy died because he did not get insulin injections" The largest source of revenue in the country was oil. But the price of oil has fallen and people are hungry. Therefore, they loot trucks, start quarrels in front of the shops and try to cross the border, at least there to buy food. In collaboration with doctors we give medicine to the people that really need it.
